SEASON TICKETS

Get ready to explore with us as our brilliant artists prepare to transport you from the turn of the century Japan, to a 17th century Tuscan convent, to modern day New England, to a 19th century English naval ship! Our 70th season promises “Opera for Everyone!”

  • We open in October with a single performance of Giacomo Puccini’s beloved Madama Butterfly at the Forum Theatre, set in turn-of-the-century Japan. Director Johnathon Pape (Sweeney Todd) and Conductor Andrew Altenbach will bring this story to life, the inspiration for the musical, Miss Saigon.
  • Next, Director Cara Consilvio (Hansel & Gretel, Glory Denied) and Conductor Joshua Horsch (Glory Denied) reunite for Puccini’s Suor Angelica at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church in downtown Binghamton, set in a 17th century Tuscan convent.
  • The season continues with the TCO premiere of Jake Heggie’s Three Decembers at the Opera Center, based on Terrence McNally’s original script for Some Christmas Letters. Director James Kenon Mitchell (Brettl-Lieder, L’heure espagnole, Tragedy of Carmen) and Conductor Braden Toan (Sweeney Todd, Hydrogen Jukebox, Tragedy of Carmen) reunite for this TCO premiere.
  • The season closes with the return of Joshua Horsch (Glory Denied) to conduct Gilbert & Sullivan’s beloved operetta, H.M.S Pinafore at the Forum Theatre, which hasn’t been seen at TCO in nearly twenty-five years. G&S expert Nicholas Wuehrmann will make his TCO directing debut.

Your 2018-2019 Season Ticket package automatically includes the above four productions.  This year, we are also offering a Bonus Pack of TCO events. Complete your 2018-2019 opera experience by adding these four unique events to your season ticket package.
