With bright sets and imaginative costumes, Tri-Cities Opera’s talented vocalists sing stories to life!
Dates Offered: September 2023 – May 2024
Grade Level: Recommended for K–5th
Tri-Cities Opera welcomes you into the rainforest, with its colorful array of day and night creatures, as we present Edward Barnes’ Papagayo, a story of celebrating differences and working together to make things better for everyone. Papagayo, the parrot, plays and squawks his way through each day, frustrating the night creatures trying to get their rest. But when the hungry Moon Dog threatens their beloved moon, Papagayo’s voice just might help save the day and encourage the night creatures to see him in a new light!
Named as a nod to Binghamton’s famous carousels, Opera-Go-Round has been delivering the excitement of a fully-staged children’s opera to schools throughout New York State and northern Pennsylvania for nearly 50 years. Students engage with our singers and pianist to explore this unique art form and take away valuable social-emotional learning lessons.
