Aaron Stepanek

Aaron Stepanek was most recently seen in the title role of Rosencrantz in Herschel Garfein’s comic opera, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, with Seagle Music Colony, as well as Signor Naccarelli (The Light in the Piazza). With Seagle’s Outreach Program, Mr. Stepanek portrayed the lovably vile Mr. Bigbad in Little Red’s Most Unusual Day.

2018 will see Mr. Stepanek return to Seagle as Nick Carraway in John Harbison’s The Great Gatsby. Upon completing his time at Seagle, Mr. Stepanek will assume a place in the Resident Artist program with Tri-Cities Opera in Binghamton, NY. While with Tri-Cities he will sing Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), Charlie (Three Decembers), and Captain Corcoran (H.M.S. Pinafore).

Mr. Stepanek is a recent graduate (2016) of Wichita State University where he received his Masters of Music degree in Opera Performance. At WSU, Adario (Les Indes Galantes), Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus), and Hosie (Cold Sassy Tree). He also performed opera scenes as Marcello (La Bohème), Silvio (I Pagliacci), and Figaro (Il Barbiere di Siviglia). Mr. Stepanek’s other notable roles include: Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) and Dandini (La Cenerentola).

A native of Hillsboro, Kansas, Mr. Stepanek received his Bachelors of Arts in Music from Tabor College. At Tabor, he was active in many music and theater productions including performing as Bill Sykes (Oliver), Cain/Japheth (Children of Eden), and Brinker (A Separate Peace). Mr. Stepanek has coached and studied with several noted opera professionals including Samuel Ramey, Claudia Catania, Stephen Lussman, Andrew Bisantz, Jason Smith, and Jennifer Quammen McGuire. He is currently in the voice studio of Alan Held.
