Roland Burks, bass baritone, has performed numerous leading and supporting principal cast roles in opera, oratorio, musical theater, and concert with companies such as New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Tulsa Opera, Anchorage Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, Connecticut Opera, Knoxville Opera, El Paso Opera, Augusta Opera, San Antonio Opera, Pittsburg Opera Theater, Center for Contemporary Opera-NYC, Encompass New Opera Theater-NYC, Phoenix Symphony, Mercury Opera-Edmonton Canada, International Opera Theater-Umbria Italy, and Teatro Real-Madrid Spain to name a few.
Some of his favorite roles include Sweeney in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, Tonio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, and Baron Scarpia in Puccini’s Tosca.
