This interdisciplinary program ties in with a variety of curricula including language, history and art. Residencies can be as general as “What is Opera?” or as specific as preparing students to get the most from a TCO main stage performance. Presentations can also be tailored to focus on certain composers, periods, or languages in opera. TCO staff work closely with teachers to design a unique program.

Tri-Cities Opera’s own talented Resident Artists can put on concerts of pieces from the standard Opera/Operetta/Art Song repertoire for any occasion: in the schools, for private parties, in community theater settings and retirement communities. For groups who plan on attending our mainstage performances, or for those who want to learn more about a particular work, we can also put together “preview” presentations of the season’s mainstage operas, complete with singing and explanations of the plot.

We recognize the indigenous peoples whose land Tri-Cities Opera’s facilities were built on. This land has been sustainably stewarded throughout generations by Haudenosaunee and Algonkian speaking peoples. We honor and respect the enduring relationship that exists between these peoples and nations and this land.
Tri-Cities Opera is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. Productions are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.
